Launch event platform

As part of an annual graduation event series we were required to build a bespoke, online networking and resource hub, for a virtual event to be held globally over two weeks.

Graduates should only have access to content and streams according to their region and the virtual breakout room to which they had been assigned, though everybody would login to the platform from the same page. Content also included chat rooms, assessments and an on-demand video hub as well as an AI networking tool.

The client needed a simple to use reporting hub from which they could generate robust live attendance snapshots, granular breakdowns of regional attendance and data surrounding user engagement and interaction, on demand.

Profiling

Attendees were encouraged to add both professional and general information as well as images to their profiles, to promote networking with like minded graduates.

Smart matching

Upon populating their profile, AI would generate smart tags through which graduates with similar interests or views could find each other.

Chat & discussion

Interaction was widely encouraged and as such, the client was able to create chat rooms as and when they saw fit, or when a new "key topic" had been raised in a session that warranted further conversation.

Localised agenda

The platform would detect a user's location and suggest a timezone in which to show the agenda. This could be manually overridden if required and the agenda subsequently updated instantaneously.

Assessments

A skills assessment was offered to graduates to assess their professional progress and was made available throughout the lifecycle of the platform.

On demand hub

In the lead up to the live event days, some videos and resources were made available for context and preparation. In turn, live sessions would be made available for on demand viewing retrospectively.

Regional streams

As the event was global, logins occurred periodically throughout the day. As such, there were 3 regional live streams - each attendee only seeing the one to which they'd been assigned, yet able to interact with the global attendance.

Breakouts

Throughout live sessions, attendees were periodically required to convene in breakout groups, to which they were assigned by the event team. Each breakout assignment would be displayed on the live stream page, unique to the attendee.

Live data

Attendance was mandatory, so both live and post event data was required as robust. The client could see live attendance snapshots via a custom reporting dashboard, as well as interaction and engagement statistics. CSVs were available per their reporting parameters.
