Virtualevent.page

With the rise of virtual events, we developed a demo platform as a bouncing off point for client demonstrations. As we build projects bespoke, it was important to have a central hub through which we could create and demonstrate functionality templates for streaming, gamification and event apps.

Using WordPress for the backend eliminated any requirement or cost to build an infrastructure, whilst our purpose built AWS hosting solution has helped us run virtual and hybrid events for up to 15,000 attendees, logging in concurrently.

Event apps are delivered through a responsive interface or a PWA, again eliminating duplicate development costs but ensuring offline access where required and interactions between on-site and online attendees.

Notifications

A notification style homepage serves as an event hub for announcements, calls to action and quick links.

Live and on-demand streaming

Live stream pages can integrate user specific breakout sessions, instant chat feeds, emoji reactions, Q&A and polling as well as agendas and speaker profiles. An on-demand hub can recommend content and display previously viewed sessions.

Interactions

Across the platform, users can connect with each other and add profile information and external links. On-site messaging is an option, but feedback suggests attendees would prefer to be directed through their existing channels such as LinkedIn and email.

Escape rooms

We take gamification on a case by case basis - some audiences are lean forward and want to engage, others are only driven by competition! An escape room can be tailored by event theme and include code breaking, riddle solving and hide and seek by way of a few examples.

Leaderboards

Where graduates can be more willing to engage with games, senior management seem to love a leaderboard! Everything from escape rooms, quizzes or general interaction with other attendees can be tabulated and rewarded.

Profiling

Anybody involved with the event can be profiles - whether attendees, speakers, exhibitor or sponsors. Profile information is pulled through to any interaction across the platform and of course each can have their own profile page where required.

Personalised content

Attendees can build the content of their event app by adding attendees, exhibitors or sessions to their favourites list. Viewing history will also populate as the attendee navigates around the event app.

Networking

Attendees dashboards can populate with a QR code through which they can share their contact information when scanned by other attendees. Exhibitor locations can be found through searchable floorplans which can also offer turn by turn directions.

Offline access

No downloads are required, though we can offer a PWA (Progressive Web App) such that content is also available offline. A PWA is downloaded to the user's device and can be opened by clicking its icon - exactly like a traditional app.
