Confex AI info point

At the UK’s most significant event about the events industry, we demoed an AI integrated, touchscreen info point.

With hundreds of sessions available and as many exhibitors to visit, our info point could interpret any text input and generate a personalised agenda and shortlist of exhibitors that it deemed relevant through AI.

Our solution was language agnostic and could also work through typos without error. Taking it a step further, we included dynamic QR code functionality so the user could take their personalised event plan away with them on their own device, complete with directions to sessions, theatres and exhibitor stands.

Real time agenda

As our screen was mounted in portrait we configured a horizontal timeline display that could be dragged as a user searched upcoming (or past) sessions to maximise the visible content. After a period of inactivity (no "touch" interactions) the agenda would reset itself to the current point in the day's proceedings.

Interact to expand info areas

Tapping anything on the screen would introduce a vertical slide-in with more information about that element - be it a session, exhibitor or speaker.

Directions

As we knew exactly where the info point would be placed, we could give users turn by turn directions and floorplans to the theatre or stand they were looking for.

AI search

As well as offering a keyword search we used AI to interpret any text input and match it with event content according to the categories that AI sent back to us as a response.

Match content

In practise the AI search functionality meant a user could type their interests, job title or goals and the info point would suggest sessions, exhibitors and speakers accordingly.

Browse recommendations

Users could browse the recommended event content before choosing their next steps.

Search content tags

Any keyword or AI search could be fine tuned by adding or removing content tags manually. In turn, a manual search could also be composed by simply selecting the content categories that matched a user's interests.

Real-time results

As quickly as a content tag was added or removed, the info point would display an updated list of recommended sessions, exhibitors and speakers.

Generate a QR code

Once a user had built their personalised agenda and exhibitor list they could click a button to generate a dynamic QR code which, when scanned, would transfer their fine-tuned event agenda to their mobile device.
