In previous years, the client had handled user submissions manually. Our solution included an upload portal, with 24hr instant chat support for anybody who needed help.
Submissions were graphics and image based, so specific resolutions and dimensions were necessary to ensure content was of optimum quality on the signage screens. Our submission form included cropping functionality and required files to meet minimum resolution requirements.
By automating these tasks, the client was relieved of what had historically been a time consuming and manual process.
At the event, users would approach any touch screen and browse the PDFs which were displayed at random to ensure all had equal visibility. Tabs below each PDF detailed authors, synopsis and disclosures.
As well as browsing, users could use a single search form to seek PDFs by specific authors or which contained keywords or topics.
Clicking any PDF would open it in full screen mode on the signage. After a pre-determined period of inactivity the signage would reset to its homescreen, ready for the next user.
Users could scan signage QR codes to take content away on their mobile devices.
All search functionality also transfers to the mobile view, so users can carry on researching beyond their time at the signage screen.
By utilising touch screens and users' own devices, all print requirements for the event were eliminated.
