Bespoke ticketing portal

A client required a complex ticketing platform, for which off-the-shelf solutions were not meeting their needs. Amongst the complications were their requirement for conditional ticket bundles, single use discount codes, multi use coupon codes and date/time specific pricing levels.

In addition to selling tickets, the site should be a well presented portal of event information, speaker profiles and offer a visually appealing display of a complex agenda spanning 8 product tracks.

On brand

In line with client branding, the platform needed to be slick and eye-catching whilst also practical. As such, we configured a branding heavy landing page to include videos and graphics with clear calls to action leading to a more simplified registration page.

Client dashboard

Giving the client access to an editorial dashboard meant they could add speakers, agendas and site copy as and when the desired. Eliminating lengthy email chains regarding data collation streamlined workflows for the client.

Agenda displays

An initial "bare bones" agenda was displayed, before a more in-depth display was configured to account for 8 individual product tracks and "sub-agendas". Clicking a track would bring in a side-bar detailing that agenda and associated speakers, to keep the top-level agenda digestible at a glance.

Configurable

Our registration form was built from the ground up, meaning any fields of any field-type could be added to collect the data they required. In turn, we applied conditional logic to fields and entire form pages so that the form was as short as possible for the user according to their selections.

Complex ticketing

From a client perspective the various ticketing tiers and requirement for discount codes in different forms made registration a complex process and one for which off-the-shelf solutions weren't an option. Once we had clearly established the structure however, logic could be applied to the form and database to ensure a seamless process for both the client and registrant.

Real time reporting

All registrations and amendments were collated in a real time, online spreadsheet, within which we could further drill down into registration data according to the client's needs. As such there was no requirement for weekly reports or file downloads.

Bundles and discounts

The precise discount code structure wasn't known in full from the outset, so we built the site with flexibility in mind. We did know that multiple tickets should be purchasable, so configured single use referral emails for additional ticket-holders whilst also configuring group discounts and both single and multi use discount codes.

Stripe integration

We integrated the registration form with the client's own merchant account, meaning they handled all revenue and regional taxes. The connection was made over OAuth2 which also meant we weren't storing any client sensitive data or application keys in the website database.

Client environment

To circumvent red tape we hosted the site on the client's own infrastructure, learning their workflows along the way. This meant all data was stored with them and servers were managed by their own internal team.
