Offline poster display

A client required a touchscreen solution to exhibit images, allowing users to filter the results where required. The main issue was connectivity, as the screens would not have access to a reliable internet connection. Subsequently, the solution had to be workable offline if the connection was unstable.

We took the project a step further by creating mobile responsive web pages, meaning a simple tap of a specifically programmed NFC tag on the side of the screen would open the same content on the user’s mobile device.

Offline compatible

Where connectivity wasn't available, content would still be displayed and could still be filtered. All content loaded with the initial page load, then filters would simply dictate what was displayed on the page.

Scalable

As the solution is web-based, the client could replicate the screen functionality across as many touchscreens as they liked.

Full screen mode

Users could browse articles and their synopses / author information then click a thumbnail to view the PDF in full screen mode and/or zoom in to the finer details.

NFC tags

Users could tap the strategically placed NFC tag to open the signage content on their mobile device.

QR Codes

In practice this could have also included scannable QR codes to serve the same purpose but an NFC tap provides an even more effortless solution.

No downloads

As a result of the mobile responsive pages being a web-based equivalent of the signage screen itself, there was no barrier to viewing the content or requirement to download anything.

Sustainable

Through the use of the readily available technology in everybody's pockets, our solution eliminated the requirement for any printed materials at the event.

Full content

Every element of functionality transfers to the user's device - all content, filters and a contact form.

Browser agnostic

No downloads or minimum spec requirements were necessary to view the content, beyond a modern day browser on the user's device.
